My iPhone is almost out of space with photos and videos of Caleb. It?s not that I don?t spend time WITH my son, but the kid is just so damn cute and makes the funniest, cutest, little movements, sounds and facial expressions, I want to make sure that I capture them so we can always remember those moments when he grows up, because everyone tells me that this stage goes by so quickly, so my iPhone is generally in my hand or easily accessible.

I was thinking about this the other day, while I was noticing that I was really watching my son through the iPhone?s camera lens, instead of really looking at him, and so I had to put the phone down, and just gaze in wonder at my son?without the lens, without any barrier?just me and Caleb, hanging out.

Pretty soon after Caleb was born, my friend Erik sent me a link to an article entitled ?Welcome to the Age of Overparenting.? If you scroll down to the bottom, it depicts a few different kinds of overparenting methods. I think it?s pretty safe to say that I could be considered an ?iParent? ? this is how the iParent is described in the article:

THE iParent / Applus technologus: Employs a Flip camera, Skype Mobile, Facebook, and an iPhone to keep distant relatives and acquaintances abreast of developmental milestones. Relies on electronics to soothe children in the grocery store and in the car. Tweets the contents of each diaper.

I?m sure I will find my balance at some point?but for now?I think I?ll still keep capturing these precious moments on my iPhone so that you can listen, and enjoy, and see super cute moments like some of the below photos. How lucky are we, seriously?
